Reminder Portfolio 4 and Quiz 4

Greetings,

This is a reminder for you to remember that Quiz 4 is going to be the 2nd review activity. You must bring it answered, since I have already give you the answers, only procedure will be graded.

Also you must finish the activities from stage 4, this is the activities of the book and the problems at the notebook. We will start grading them for filling in your portfolio checklist. This last part means you must also bring your checklist.

PIA delivery date (this is the poster) was changed because we weren't able to meet on thursday (today). I will be retrieving the disks on Monday.

See you on Monday,

Lab report and Portfolio 4 reminder

This post is to remind you that the Lab report from stage 4 must be delivered by tomorrow.

On the other hand up to now we have covered up to activity 5 and started the second set of problems from the Self Assestment Problems (SAP). This means there are some groups where we are still in nedd to finish the problems from activity 6 and the rest of the problems from SAP, as well as the SAQ (Self Assestment Questions) and the Conceptual Analysis. We will be working tomorrow with these activities, and we'll start checking them next week. That means YOU MUST BRING YOUR BOOK.

Uniformly Rectilinear Movement Practice Delivery Date

URM Practrice due date is this week.

I'll allow you to deliver the practice during your last class of the week. This means 217 delivers Thursday 5th, while the rest delivers Friday 6th.

Remember you must include the different errors we saw during stage1 (absolute, relative, percentual) for the period of time, distance (not displacement) and velocity.

You may find the rubric in the following link:

Review for exam

Good evening,

This post is to inform you that we are allowed to use the physics lab this week during the morning for giving a review and solving doubts. For attending you must present yourselves in time with your review document printed(Review), notebook, calculator, pen and pencil. You must notify prior the first session if you want to take part of this sessions, to distribute the interested people so we optimize the time we are given.

I'll be giving this sessions from Wednesday to Friday from 11:30 to 12:20.

Lab report.

In this post you will find a digital example of the practice you performed last week (february 4, 2015).

Please notice this is not a fill in format, you must modify it according to the description of lab practices that appears in your portfolio agreement (the first post of this blog). I include a copy of the information related:

Lab-report is delivered by team, team members names must appear in the front page specifying who worked in each section of the report, students must be aware that for following practices they cannot work in the same section. For grading the activity the student must present the Workbook Work report section filled-in (one per team member filled handwritten) and a printed (not handwritten) Lab-report of the practice. Every piece of paper must be stapled together, and into a blue folder. If the phase includes more than one lab session then reports must be presented separately for each practice. The Lab-report must include the following sections:

  • Front page (Team members, Practice title, Group, School, Teacher’s name).
  • Introduction
  • Hypothesis
  • Materials
  • Experimental procedure
  • Results (this is related to the Work report section in the book)
  • Discussion (of the obtained results)
  • Conclusion (of the obtained results)
  • Personal opinions.

Frankenstein works (printed with handwritten parts) would be graded over 70% of the grade.

Professor Assitant Test (PAT) Grades

PATGrades

Greetings,

In here you may find the file with the results of the PAT Test you performed during the first and second week of class. Remember this may be considered as a diagnose test, since the topics covered are the ones we will be seeing during the semester, by the end of which I expect for you all to be able to answer problems like the ones included in the test. The test will allow me to know in which topics we may need to focus, as well as how your math skills for the class are and whether to develop more activities for you to success the topics.

Thank you for your comprehension,

Mrs. Angulo

Abril Angulo
